Legacy Foundation & Rise Up Partnership
In 2019, Rise Up is launching the Gender Equity Initiative (GEI) to advance social justice and improve education, equity and opportunity for girls and women. With efforts globally and in California, focus areas include immigration, healthcare reform, gun violence, education inequality, and poverty.
The Initiative empowers leaders to expand their impact by providing the training, funding, and resources they need to achieve large scale change at local and national levels.
Rise Up will select a cohort of 18 visionary leaders from the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Valley to participate in an Advocacy & Leadership Accelerator (April 8-14, 2019), strengthening their leadership and impact, and investing in their vision to address the challenges facing marginalized girls and women in their communities.
The $20,000 grant from the IWF Northern California Legacy Foundation will support Rise Up’s Gender Equity Initiative (GEI) in California, supporting Bay Area and Central Valley leaders advance social justice and equity for girls and women in California.
