Vision & Commitment – Vital to Leadership Success
Wednesday, October 26*
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Pacific)
Two current IWF Northern California members are featured in the new book Shifting Context: Leadership Springs from Within. The book is written by a former member, Linda Alepin, who now resides in Tucson, Arizona. For the book, the authors interviewed twenty transformational global leaders and explored how their sense of caring and vision helped ensure their success. These true stories of sheroes and heroes from around the world demonstrate how leadership from within brings about real change.
Join us to hear them discuss the role of vision and commitment.
All three panelists will participate in a wide-ranging, interactive panel discussion that will answer questions like:
- What role did a “disruptive transformational vision” play in Kathryn’s success at Health Forum?
- What is the longer-term vision that leads Barbara to assist young women from post-conflict countries to get a U.S. college education?
- How does the book fulfill the “vision” that came into Linda’s head as she stood in a stream in the mid-1990’s?
Linda Alepin, now author, former high tech senior executive, and retired Santa Clara University professor has merged her years of experience and global network connections into a motivational guide to 21st century leadership principles.
Barbara Bylenga (Executive Director of SHE-CAN Global) and Kathryn Johnson, (Hospital & Health Care Consultant) are featured in two chapters highlighting the role of vision and commitment to success.
Our very own photojournalist and member Paola Gianturco has this to say about the book:
“‘Our promise is that there will be leadership inspiration and learning beyond any you have experienced,’” the authors write in the introduction to this book. I’ve known Linda Alepin for thirty years, and she delivers. If you want to lead change effectively, read this book!”
