2019 Legacy Partnership Project: Background & Application
WHO WE ARE
The International Women's Forum (IWF) Northern California advances leadership across careers, cultures and communities by connecting preeminent women for the purpose of idea exchange, inspiration and learning. We are an organization of over 250 women leaders based in the Bay Area representing diverse backgrounds, industry expertise and professions. Our key tenets are leadership, friendship, community and inspiration.
The Legacy Foundation is the foundation arm of IWF Northern California, a 501(c)3 charitable and educational organization. Our mission is to improve the status of women and foster the development of future women leaders, through our key tenets: Advance and inspire leadership of women and girls in our community
The Legacy Partnership Project
The Legacy Partnership Project was established in 2015 to directly benefit women in the greater Bay Area through partnerships with established non-profit organizations who align with our mission to improve the status of women and foster the development of future leaders. The Legacy Foundation offers selected partners financial support while also leveraging IWF Northern California members' talents and skills.
IWF members run many of the political, economic, arts and social structures that make the Bay Area great. IWF members connect personally with our partner organizations, serving as guides and mentors. They are excellent resources, sharing deep and broad experiences and expertise across professions and industries. We encourage selected partners to tap into this network of remarkable women to positively touch and impact the women in and served by your organization.
PARTNERSHIP & GRANT PROCESS
Please apply for an IWF Legacy Foundation Partnership grant if you are a Bay Area based non-profit directly serving and benefiting women in the Bay Area. The Legacy Foundation Board considers prospective partners for a one-year (2019) commitment and a grant of $20,000. Based on the success for the first year, the partnership is renewable for a second year.
We want to know that both our grant support and access to our network of leaders will make a difference to your organization. In the application, it is important that candidates propose how IWF Northern California can help fulfill their mission and articulate the potential impact of IWF members’ time, talents, and treasures.
We have designed our grant process to be simple. Following an open application period, a group of semi-finalists will be invited to present to the Legacy Foundation Board in July. In September, selected finalists will present to the broader IWF membership, and members will vote to select the new partner. The selected partner will be asked to appoint a relationship manager from their organization to oversee the partnership commitment.
