Gift Drive for Year Up Bay Area Students

Year Up is holding a gift drive to help welcome their students into the new year and as they move into their internships at the end of January. Below are the instructions on how to participate and make a positive impact on the lives of Year Up students.

"In partnership with DreamList, we’ve been able to create wish lists for each of our students who have opted-in to this drive. We invite you to explore these lists through our Bay Area portal (www.dreamlist.com/org/yuba), and hear directly from our students on the items that would make a huge difference in their lives. We encourage you to participate at any level that you are able (there are gifts that range from $10 - $500) knowing that any gift purchased will make an incredible impact on the everyday lives of our students. This Engagement Opportunity will be open until the end of January, when our students transition into their internships.

If you choose to participate in this drive, please make note of the following:

    • When selecting an item, please directly click on the “Reserve from Family’s List” button. This will pull up a screen that allows you to do two things:
    • Reserve the item.  This will remove it from being visible on the wish list, ensuring that items are not sent multiple times.
    • Find the address for shipping. Each young adult has chosen a different Amazon Locker. Please utilize the address indicated. This is to ensure privacy for all our students, while maintaining public health measures.
    • When the item has shipped, please forward the tracking information to our email at yubadonations@yearup.orgWITH the name of the student the gift is for. This allows us to notify the student of an incoming delivery.
    • When the item is delivered, please forward the locker code to yubadonations@yearup.org so that we can send along to the student.
    • Please additionally note, these contributions will go directly to students, and have a huge impact on their lives immediately – due to our own limitations, we are unable to provide documentation to claim these items as tax-deductible contributions.
    • If you have additional questions or concerns, please reach out to us at yubadonations@yearup.org."
