Part 1: Key Decisions from the Last Term

Tuesday, October 25, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Pacific

The United States Supreme Court addressed many important topics during its 2021-2022 term, which have significant implications as we look ahead. In Part 1, Barbara will summarize several of the Court’s important decisions, including gun control, limitations on the authority of administrative agencies, and religious rights. She will then facilitate an open discussion on these topics with participants. The overturning of Roe v. Wade is a topic that will be discussed in Part 3 of this series. Articles reviewing the Court’s past term will be provided to registrants as background information. Register here.

Part 3: Implications of Roe v. Wade Reversal

To be scheduled in January 2023

In June 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court officially reversed Roe v. Wade, declaring that the constitutional right to abortion, upheld for nearly a half century, no longer exists. In Part 3, Barbara will discuss the legal implications, provide context with relevant state specific legislation, and explore the potential implications of the Court’s decision on other rights that are not constitutionally protected. Registration link forthcoming.
