AI/ML Update: How ChatGPT is Disrupting Our Work and Lives

Monday, March 27
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Pacific)

Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion about one of hottest new technology innovations to launch in years - ChatGPT. In just two months, an estimated 100m people have registered to experiment with this generative AI chatbot and there are reports that 3m - 10m people engage with the ChatGPT bot daily. This tremendous interest and adoption has not been seen before and was not expected by the folks at OpenAI who developed ChatGPT. ChatGPT alone has reinvigorated market, entrepreneur and investor interest in all things AI. Microsoft who has been collaborating with OpenAI for several years was quick to make a $1b investment last month. The future looks bright for AI-enabled innovation while at the same time concerning as we consider the risks and the downstream implications to work and home.

Our speakers include:

Angela Hoover - the CEO and co-founder at Andi, the first Generative AI search assistant that provides factually accurate, summarized results. She's from an unconventional background, and before founding Andi went from construction laborer to working with Microsoft. She got into YC with the idea of building a search engine for Gen Z, and will talk about the importance of trustworthy and practical AI.

Jessica Hubley - is the Managing Partner of Story LLP, a California law firm, and CEO of Story LLP Software Inc. Together, they help humans cooperate to get what they deserve, starting with lawyers and clients. Story LLP has built an alliance of experienced and talented – but underappreciated – female and minority attorneys to serve these clients in an environment of mutual respect. She will speak to the legal and privacy implications of generative AI.

Liz Tsai - the CEO and founder of the Customer Service as a Service (CSaaS) startup HiOperator. HiOperator provides human-assisted, technology-enabled customer service to many direct-to-consumer online businesses. Liz will share with our audience how the HiOperator platform is leveraging generative AI and how the team is managing the risks.

The discussion will be moderated by IWF NorCal member Beth Devin.
